NASA’s Juno Cam / Juno Mission
Juno has been studying Jupiter since 2016, as it has shared a new level of information about Jupiter in great detail since it first arrived. Notable findings include new information about its unique atmosphere that is “unlike anything else” in our solar system, its Great Red Spot storm, north pole and some photos that look like they belong in an art museum.
Enhanced-color image of Jupiter’s bands of light and dark clouds was created by citizen scientists Gerald Eichstädt and Seán Doran using data from the JunoCam imager on NASA’s Juno spacecraft.
The U.S. space agency extended the mission through 2021 back in June 2018.
